The Martinsville Police Department consists of:

- 9 full-time telecommunicators

The Department's jurisdiction is approximately 12 square miles.

The Martinsville Police Department currently sponsors a
Clothe-A-Child Program assisting needy children in the community. The D.A.R.E. Program is available to elementary school students throughout the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville. Also available to interested students is a Gun
Safety Program which is taught by members of the
department who are state certified instructors.

According to the Uniform Crime Reports kept by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the City of Martinsville is
considered one of the safest cities of its size.
