“With our growing crowds who come to enjoy our wonderful fireworks show, we wanted to capture this momentum and provide a day-long event to showcase our city park for our residents and visitors to enjoy. We hope everyone will come out and spend a great day and evening as we celebrate our nation’s independence,” Kohl said.

Melrose Pyrotechnics will be doing a fireworks show starting at dusk from the top of the hill near the pool area.

Deputy Fire Chief Charlie Fraker is working closely with the Melrose Pyrotechnics team and will have firefighters stationed close by as the fireworks are shot off to help ensure everyone’s safety.

“The folks at Melrose Pyrotechnics are skilled professionals and they are planning a fast-paced, 20-25-minute show this year filled with all kinds of great sights and sounds for everyone to enjoy,” Fraker said.

Based on a new City ordinance, no fireworks of any kind are allowed inside the City park on July 4. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited every day.

Originally planned as a new event, the July 4 parade has been postponed until next year.
