No trash collection July 4; double pick up July 5


Bulk Trash Week July 3 - 7

Martinsville, Ind. – June 27, 2017 – There will be no trash collection on next week’s City holiday, Tuesday, July 4, with Martinsville Street Department crews doing a double trash pick up next Wednesday, July 5 for all those on the Tuesday and Wednesday collection routes.  

Residents are reminded trash should be set out curbside by 7:00 a.m. the day of pick up and no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the night before collection.

July 3 – 7 (except for Tuesday, July 4) is the City’s next Bulk Trash Week when Street Department crews will collect bulk trash items on residents’ regular trash collection day.    

For those who have not taken advantage of this free service, items such as furniture, box springs and mattresses can be placed curbside for collection. No electronics, appliances or building material will be collected.

The last Bulk Trash Week of the year will be October 2-6.

Any bulk items needing disposed of outside of bulk trash weeks should be taken to the transfer station at 45 Rose Street.

All City administrative offices will be closed Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4.  The Board of Public Works and City Council meetings will be held on Thursday, July 6 at 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall.

There will be regular trash collection on Monday, July 3.
